FESTIVAL IZIS
PIPES
The PIPES edition addressed the fact that our comfort is based on pipes that supply and drain everything we need, but must remain invisible.
“The tenth anniversary edition of Izis takes up as its basic element the pipe, that elongated and hollow something that normally provides, in secret, all the inflows and outflows that either in the bowels of our homes and cities or inside our bodies keep our lives running as smoothly as possible.” – Karlo Hmeljak
The tenth edition of the festival, in addition to the program of established Slovenian and foreign artists, also boasted a new venue – the Bastion fortress.
It was also groundbreaking because it was the first to be supported by the Ministry of Culture’s 4-year project call, which puts IZIS alongside other well-established festivals in Slovenia.
We opened the festival on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 8 p.m. in the Libertas Warehouse in Koper, and the program continued in Bastion fortress.
PROGRAM
The program consisted of nine intermedia installations (some were presented to the public for the first time), three multi-channel sound installations, three workshops and seven performances.
