SEDIMENT LAB VIDEO
Hypercomf
The Sediment Lab video uses raw footage and sound taken during the artists research visit to Koper Bay to reflect the tension between scientific, industrial, and marine worlds in the area. It contrasts fragile benthic life with the expansive presence of the port activities and offers an open reflection on overgrowth, and overconsumption, inviting viewers to consider the fragility of marine ecosystems in their everyday actions and choices.

Hypercomf is a multidisciplinary, speculative design identity, established in 2017 and based on Tinos island.
Hypercomf’s practice fosters interdisciplinary collaborations and community engagement methods of production, often including a range of biodiverse participants. These processes are manifested as space activations, multimedia artworks, and sustainable design prototypes, structured around dynamic narratives that feature both organic and inorganic protagonists.
The future of the relationships between nature and culture, between domestication and ecosystemic networks, tradition and technology, as well as the challenges faced by small island communities, are some of the research subjects that are set in focus.
