Dancescapes – Immersive VR dance experience

Side event of the 14th IZIS Festival

Monday, 9 November 2026, 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm · Small hall, Libertas, Koper

Duration: 30 minutes · Free entry, registration required

From the future we travel back to the past, to find stories hidden in abandoned places.

Dancescapes is an immersive dance experience. Wearing a virtual reality headset, you set off on a dance journey through forgotten places in Velenje, Trbovlje, Sarajevo, Belgrade and the Istrian village of Svetvinčenat. An abandoned chimney, a deserted bathhouse, a mine shaft and a park were once important to their communities. Through dance and music, they come back to life.

Directed by Enya Belak, the 360-degree film brings together five choreographers and nineteen performers in one continuous journey. Your gaze can take in the whole space at once, receiving the stories of the past and reimagining the future through dance.

“The film is a retreat into the world of dance – an ode to quiet spaces and forgotten presence, where the body reshapes silent voids.” – Enya Belak

Each session has 18 places, so registration is required. Choose your session when you register.
